Altruismo is one of the school "houses" at Ron Clark Academy (the name has also been used by at least one other school, Emmons School District 33, suggesting RCA's house system format gets adopted elsewhere too). Per the RCA description:

• Meaning: "Altruismo" is Portuguese for "altruism" — literally "the givers."
• Origin story: The house's lore traces it to "the rainforests of the Amazon," where a group of Brazilians were given the name for embodying that meaning.
• Symbol: A griffin — head of an eagle, body of a lion — representing strength and grace, fierceness and nurturing combined.
• Color: Black, meant to convey prestige and elite quality.
• Identity/values: The house is built around the idea that real power comes from empowering others, not just looking out for yourself — competitive pride paired with a spirit of lifting others up.
• Track record: Described as producing more valedictorians per class than any other house historically, with members heavily involved across clubs, committees, and school activities — positioned as a house that cultivates leadership.
