kids amistad house Kids House of Amistad

Kids Amistad House celebrates the spirit of friendship, encapsulated by its meaning in Spanish. Amistad, which translates to "friendship," is one of the established houses at Ron Clark Academy, fostering an environment where children can thrive.

The origin of Amistad can be traced back to Mexico, representing a collective of remarkable individuals noted for their unwavering spirit and kindness. The house's identity is symbolized by the immortal peacock, which embodies the core philosophy of self-discovery and authenticity. This is beautifully captured in the phrase: "Once the peacock finds its feathers, it discovers who it really is."

Children belonging to the Amistad house are recognized for their diverse personalities, combining intelligence, creativity, friendliness, and competitiveness. New members may initially feel uncertain about their place, yet they are encouraged to develop their confidence and uncover their true selves within the nurturing culture of the house.

A remarkable aspect of the Kids Amistad House is its resilience demonstrated over the years. It took the house eight years to secure its first house championship, a testament to the persistence and fighting spirit ingrained in every member. This narrative reinforces the idea that the journey to success is built on resilience and determination.

In honor of their achievements, members can aspire to earn knighthood, the highest accolade within the house, recognizing their contributions and growth.

Additionally, the Amistad house often engages in various activities that not only emphasize teamwork but also instill core values among its members. Through these experiences, participants in the Kids Amistad House learn about collaboration, empathy, and the importance of community.
